IMESA 2010 Emanti Participation
The Institute for Municipal Engineers of South Africa held the yearly conference in East London from the 26th October 2010 to the 29th October 2010. The focusof the conference was to provide an opportunity to share ideas and constructively debate the challenges facing engineers in the municipal environment.
Emanti was fortunate to be involved in the conference and constituted one of the exhibitors stands which was made available to the conference attendees. This allowed for networking, knowledge and experiences sharing in efforts to assist municipal engineers in addressing the challenges that they are facing. The stands focal points included the recent developments of the eMWAP(electronic Mobile Water Application) and development of supporting tools such as the Water Safety Plan tool commissioned by the WRC(Water Research Commission). At the same time emphasis was also directed to the present eWQMS National Appointment and support extended to Water Service Authorities(WSAs) in improving Blue and Green Drop statuses.
The stand’s success can be attributed to the interactions over the three days and included National Government, Provincial Government, Water Service Authorities, Water boards, sector partners and consultants. Emanti is now in a position to utilise these interactions to expand relationships in efforts of securing partnerships for the improvement of water provision within South Africa.
