Water Services Master Class (WSMC)
To-date, the establishment of the Water Services Master Classes has proven very successful. This has included SALGA, the Municipal Institute of Learning (MILE), Ethekwini Water Services, IMESA and key water stakeholders and has been a series of municipal peer-learning exchanges in key areas of the municipal water services business. The Master Classes draw from local case studies and better practices, with an emphasis on “practitioner to practitioner” exchange. The primary target audience is Senior Water Services Technical and Management Staff. To-date, the following Master Classes have taken place:
Master Class 1
- Topics: (1) Blue Drop Certification, (2) Green Drop Certification, and (3) Water Loss and Demand Management
- Locations: (1) KwaZulu Natal (14 – 15 February 2012), (2) Gauteng (11 – 12 April 2012), and (3) Western Cape (17 – 18 April 2012)
Master Class 2
- Topics: (1) Green Drop Certification, (2) Operations and Maintenance, and (3) Service Delivery and Backlogs
- Locations: (1) KwaZulu Natal (11 – 12 July 2012), (2) Western Cape (22 – 23 August 2012), and (3) Gauteng (28 – 29 August 2012)
