Journey of Water

A group of celebrities, the media and other partners including Emanti, joined Sanlam and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) on a 4-day journey of water from the Boland Mountains (the source of the Berg, Breede and Eerste Rivers) into Cape Town.

This exciting initiative was held from 4 – 7 November, and saw some 85 km hiked to raise awareness regarding the essential need to conserve water and ensure the healthy functioning of the country’s freshwater ecosystems. The end of the event was marked by the unveiling of an installation that illustrates how water reaches consumers taps (i.e. the catchment to consumer), and was held at the Kirstenbosch Botanic Garden.

Emanti Groen Sebenza interns were also given the opportunity to participate by assisting with this successful event’s logistics.
